Robert Brooks, PhD

Robert Brooks, Ph.D. is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School (part-time) and former Director of the Department of Psychology at McLean Hospital. Dr. Brooks has lectured nationally and internationally and written extensively about such topics as resilience in both children and adults, motivation, parenting and family relationships, positive school and work environments, and balancing our personal and professional lives. He is the author or co-author of 17 books including: Reflections on Mortality: Insights into Meaningful Living; Play Therapy Interventions to Enhance Resilience; Handbook of Resilience in Children; Raising Resilient Children; and The Power of Resilience: Achieving Balance, Confidence, and Personal Strength in Your Life. Dr. Brooks has received numerous words for his work, including most recently the Mental Health Humanitarian Award from William James College in MA for contributions as a clinician, educator, and author.
