Objectives

Objectives:
After attending this education session, clinicians will:

1. Explain in motivational and patient friendly language the benefits of smoking cessation.

2. Accurately assess a patient’s readiness to quit smoking and assist in tobacco cessation efforts, even in those not ready to make a quit attempt.

3. Assess each patient and offer the modalities best suited to help the individual patient achieve success in quitting.

Target Audience

Primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, nurses, behavioral health clinicians.
